I use this card for only the 5% category items. The items are the ones listed below. I use other cards for other category because this card only does 1% and other cards has better deals. However, if your purchase fit into the 5% category, you should purchase using this card.

You need to pay the Costco membership fee up front to use this card but you could probably get enough cash back than your membership fee in a year. Biggest is the 4% back on gas. Next is 3% back on restaurants and travels, and 2%gas back on Costco purchases.
I think gas, restaurants, and travels are the most largest spendings.
